El video musical de "Circus" fue dirigido por Francis Lawrence, quien en el año 2001 dirigió para Britney Spears el video musical de "I'm a slave 4 u". Su estreno fue hecho hace apenas unas horas (5 de diciembre de 2008) a través de Entertainment Tonight. De acuerdo al mánager de Britney Spears, Larry Rudolph, éste es «extraordinario», es «realmente bueno».
